Ingredients & their meanings:

Aqua
Water, the basis of life! it helps to mix & bind things together.

Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice
It is amazing on our curls, coils, and waves. It promotes hair growth and adds strength and luster to your strands while retaining moisture. It also alleviates itchiness and dryness and soothes inflamed and sensitive scalps, reduces dandruff, and is a great conditioning agent.

Pullulan
Pullulan has been used for creating opulent smoothness for your hair, with a decend side of strength to hold your style in good form!

Galactoarabinan
Improves hair manageability and protects hair from humidity, reducing frizz significantly.

Lauryl glucoside
A natural surfectant that is useful for it cleaning abilities without stripping the hair & combined with other glucosides to enhance the foam!

Decyl glucoside
This is best know as a foaming booster! As well as its gentle cleansing ability is a safe alternative to sulfates (which we avoid in all formulas). It is 100% natural, and derived from corn, wheat, coconut, and palm kernel.

Cocamidopropyl betaine
Useful for its moisturising & organic protection abilities. It is a humectant & protein shelter, & super at cleansing hair.

Glycerin
A top dog in humectants, humectants help retain moisture — which, for us natural hair girls is a godsend. Our hair is so naturally dry, we need all the moisture we can get! One of the ways in which humectants help moisturize our hair is by grabbing the moisture that’s naturally in the air.

Phenoxyethanol
Used as a preservative in ‘Yes‘ products to limit bacterial growth.

Hydrolised soy protein
A water soluble protein derived from soy that will strengthen hair & mends hair fibers. Also increases hairs ability to hold moisture while adding shine & smoothness.

Citrus limon (lemon) peel oil
This oil will leave the hair looking healthy and shiny. It will also naturally restore the pH balance in the scalp on the hair strands themselves.

Pelargonium graveolens (geranium) flower oil
This oil will promote hair growth by nourishing the scalp and balancing the production of sebum and natural oils. Its anti-bacterial properties make Geranium Oil a superb choice!

Camellia sinensis (white tea) leaf extract
Considered a more potent, & less processed antioxidant than green tea. Improving hair growth, & acts as a humectant to help moisturize & condition the hair & scalp. Bonus feature, it also protects against sun damage.

Chamomila recutita (matricaria) flower/leaf/stem extract
Helps bind moisture to the hair, one of its components is a substance called bisabolol, which helps soften and make hair suppler.

Potassium sorbate
This man-made preservative is a gentle alternative to ingredients that we avoid in all formulas, such as parabens, methylisothiazolinone (MIT), and phthalates.

Citric Acid
Used as a pH buffer (to adjust the pH so it isn’t too alkaline-y) in ‘Yes‘ products.

Curls are part of the real world and the CG lifestyle is more than just ingredients.
Here is a practical note from Lindsay, our founder:

"Chutzpah is a lovely foam that offers clumping and frizz control.
It's suitable for all hair types. It adds a lot of shine.
You may use it however you like.
On wash days, I like to use it before and after gel."
